The new encapsulated coils offer better protection from harsh conditions like vibration and heat than molded coils, since encapsulated coils are thermoformed into sealing epoxy they offer protection that injection-molded casings do not. Encapsulated coils are also heat-treated after production, a process that sinters the encapsulating plastic part with the molded coil inside, providing superior protection to the coil.
